Video Games from a Gamer Parents perspective

So, my almost two-year-old has shown a lot of interest in video games recently. Probably because they are on more than TV shows in our house. Yes, we are the dreaded gamer parents. I mean, it kind of had to happen, and there are more and more all the time as all of us 90's kids start having kids.

And I have to admit, I haven't really got to any of the hard stuff yet, like really explicit or violent games that she plays or wants to play but she's showing interest in all types of games. I thought I had a plan in place for stuff like that, but I don't really know how to react when she sits still and watches her dad play Killzone longer than she watches Max & Ruby.

Almost Wordless Wednesday: The worst freakout of life

Background: We were just playing outside having a great time riding her little truck up and down the street, until she hit a bump on the sidewalk. I thought I turned the camera off at one point...but apparently I taped my child being possessed by the devil. The video continues for about 10 minutes of her screaming, me walking us all home, truck and all, and putting her in a time out. I can laugh about it now, but at the time I was about to rip my hair out. Hope you mommas get at least a smile out of this because I know it happens to all of us.

Why I became a Mompreneur

I always feel like I jumped into this being an entrepreneur thing backwards. Because I started it up, then let it run, now I'm going to school to better my business. I guess it's kind of how I've done most things in my life, leap before I look!
Although, that's not always a bad thing, I learn quickly and there's no better training than hands-on, and man has this been a learning experience! One of the most challenging ones I've ever had. And to be completely honest, going into it I thought, "Oh, what the heck, it's just diapers, no big deal"

But it has become a big deal. Every day I'm talking about diapers, helping people with diapers, taking pictures of diapers, learning about diapers. Learning about the industry, learning how to sew, and how to make my own diapers. Here I thought I could make a couple extra dollars, support my own habit of cloth diapering and just go on with my life. It's become so much more, it's become my way of life. I'm always thinking about how to expand, when to change, what to change, where I want this to go.

Which brought me to the question, where DO I want this to go? Well if I think about it, I probably have pretty unreasonable dreams for where it would go in my ideal world, which would be world domination obviously. In reality, I just want to help parents realize that there is a better choice, especially in my local area. I don't mean to be rude, just an observation, but people here are SO caught up in the throw away lifestyle. All of my neighbors have 4+ bags of garbage EVERY week. We have two, 1 is for garbage, 1 is for recycle, oh and a green bin which is for compost that get's picked up.

Busy as a Bee

I've been totally MIA for the past couple WEEKS. I know that is like an eternity in the blogging world. But I have been super crazy busy. First I had to deal with my job, then I had to deal with my job firing me so the owner could hire her sister. Getting a new job. Then I had a family fair with my business, then I had problems with a manufacturer and some bumps in the road with our new diaper design/name. Still working that out.
Then I had everyday life of being a mom and wife, which is enough in and of itself. It currently looks likes the latest hurricane came through our house.

Fall seems to be the busiest time of year for most people, school is starting, lots of people start jobs or go back to work after vacation...just lots going on. Including my newest endeavor to start a babywearing group. I'm really excited with all the feedback I've received, 15 moms have signed up to the email list and am anxiously hoping to start our meetings sometime this month.

This is something that is kind of a challenge for me because it is so far out of my comfort zone to be the leader of a group. But I figure I should put  my exceptional organization skills to good use, and hopefully this helps some moms in the community find friends and learn something new.

I was prompted to squeeze in some blog time today by a really nice surprise from fellow blogger Trials and Tribulations, who awarded me with the Versatile Blogger Award! Thanks so much for the nod, being so new to this I really appreciate it.
